"When I go I want to be pushing up the daisies."
Leaving a donation in your will is one of the single most important acts you can do for the future of your local countryside. Supporting your countryside now will make sure that your goodwill can live on forever.
Friends of the Peak District has survived and has continued to protect Peak District landscapes because of the generous legacies of our founders and their friends - both money and their pioneering conservation work. You can help us to continue to be a strong force for good in the countryside by leaving a donation in your will.
Legacies do not have to be big gifts. We receive many gifts of between £500 and £5,000 as well as larger ones of £15,000 and £25,000 - and every donation we receive is important and really does help our work. Whatever level you can give us, your gift will be used to help protect the beautiful Peak District.
The Peak District faces may threats in the next five, ten, twenty-year's time and beyond. Climate change and a warmer environment will bring year-round tourism and this will have a major impact on the already tired transport links. As more roads are built and enlarged to take the increased number of cars, aggregate will continually be extracted from the hillsides of already enlarged quarries. Friends of the Peak District needs to be here to keep any unnecessary development to a minimum so that future generations can enjoy this outstanding countryside.
Please remember us in your will
You can give to us in two ways, either by a lump sum (pecuniary legacy) or by a percentage (residuary legacy) of your estate. A residuary legacy allows your family and friends to be looked after first, as only what remains is given to us. We are a registered charity, so any type of legacy you leave us is entirely free of inheritance tax.
