Tea and coffee will be provided, but bring a packed lunch. And appropriate clothes!

Feb 26th 2012 @ 10:00 Chee Dale and Millers Dale walk

Chee Dale and Millers Dale walk

This enjoyable day walk will see you walk through five separate dales in the White Peaks.  Two of them (Flag Dale and Peter Dale) are little secrets of the White Peak, rarely visited by walkers often found in the adjoining Millers Dale.

Our walk starts from Millers Dale along the Monsal Trail until we turn off and head up Monks Dale.  At the top of Monks Dale we enter Peter Dale.  Peter Dale leads us up onto the limestone plateau at Tunstead before we re-enter the valley bottom in Flag Dale.  Chee Dale, our last dale of the day, is famous for its stepping stones. After we complete our walk we'll head to a local pub for a drink and maybe a meal if you want to stay.

This walk is suitable for beginners, and very easy to navigate along paths and tracks.  There could be small obstacles such as gates and stiles and the route could involve crossing open farmland.  However the terrain should be easy under foot with trainers or walking boots (good condition and good tread) being suitable.  Please note that if you wear trainers they are not likely to be waterproof and the chances are you will have wet feet by the end of the walk.
