Friends of the Peak District uses information collected from supporters and visitors to this website to improve the information we offer to you and to improve your online experience.

We take your privacy very seriously and this privacy policy sets out details of the personal information we collect about you and the ways in which we may use that information.

When do we collect personal information?

We collect personal information from you when you complete a donation or contact form and when you enter any events or competitions on this website. You may also be asked whether you would like to participate in surveys about this website to help us improve our service. Whether you participate in these surveys or not will be up to you.

What may your personal information be used for?

Membership Information

If you are a Friends of the Peak District member you are entitled to receive newsletters and an Annual Report together with events information and campaign updates. We need to retain your contact details in order to send you this information and do so for this purpose only.

Your details will be used only for the purposes for which submitted and we will not share this information with any other parties.

We may use personal information to undertake internal reviews and research in order to improve our membership scheme but the information used and the results gleaned will not be made public.

If you are a Friends of the Peak District member or you provide us with personal information in the context of an event, we may use your personal information to:

  • Assess and develop future Friends of the Peak District events and activities
  • Inform you about other Friends of the Peak District events unless you request to be removed from members mailing lists.

If you are a Friends of the Peak District member, you may at any time change your mind about receiving information from us.  If you initially chose to receive such information, and subsequently decide that you wish to be removed from the mailing list, you can request that your details be removed by emailing Susan Belt.

Sales Information

If you are purchasing goods or making a donation online, we will only use the information supplied to process the order and will not retain credit or debit card details beyond the completion of the transaction.

If you are making purchases only, your contact details will be retained for delivery purposes and a record of your transaction retained for audit/accounting for as long as is legally required.

If you wish to pay for membership online, payment information will be retained until your membership has been processed. Your contact details will be added to the database so that you can receive the newsletters and other information that membership entitles you too unless you have specifically specified otherwise.

If you are purchasing goods and wish to receive further information about events and campaigns, you can request to be added to the email list by emailing Susan Belt.

Use of Cookies

A "cookie" is a piece of information, like a tag, which some websites create on your PC. Our cookies allocate each user of this website with a random number. This procedure does not entail the collection of any personal information. Our cookies will not be used to analyse your visits to other websites or track any internet searches you may undertake whilst on this website.
