Friends of the Peak District conducts
projects throughout the Peak District with volunteer project workers on initiatives that look to work with the Peak Districts natural beauty.

The aim is to research ideas for future sustainable use and to try and harness the Peak District natural aspects and to look at ways to lessen mans influence o the environment while still maintaining a living, working National Park. One of our recent projects - Old Minerals Permissions in the English National Parks - was researched by Nick Denton (pictured above on the right) in conjunction with the Council for National Park (CNP) and resulted in the production of a technical report entitled 'Ticking Timebombs' which was very well received.

Currently we are working on two projects:

Hydro Project - which aims to harness the power of water in the Peak District for energy sources.
