2008 Photographic Competition
Life in the Peak

The theme of ‘Life in the Peak’ was interpreted in a myriad of ways with Geof Buxton's striking shot entitled 'Chatsworth Sunset Silhouette' the unanimous choice of the panel.

Paul Hill remarked: We were impressed by the dramatic silhouette that shows an aspect of life in the countryside which is seldom seen - it’s not all ramblers and sheep in the Peak District

Geof's picture has a great deal of impact from a very simple shot, producing a striking image that captures the soft calm of a summer's evening beautifully.
