Campaign leaflet July 2007: A New Vision for the Upper Don Valley (Adobe PDF document)
National Grid (NG) has recently notified the Peak District National Park Authority (PDNPA) of its intention to refurbish parts of the high voltage line in the Upper Don Valley, east of Dunford Bridge. This leaflet describes the opportunity that this proposal gives to remove the towering pylons from this landscape. The Planning Committee of the PDNPA will be considering NG's proposals on July 13th and we shall be placing our new vision before them too.
PLEASE HELP US MAKE A DIFFERENCE - Visit our Upper Don Valley Campaign page to find out how you can support us.
2084 Modeling Sustainable Landscapes for the Peak District
During the summer of 2004 CPRE, Peak District & South Yorkshire Branch entered into a unique collaboration with the Sheffield University's Landscape Department and the Peak District National Authority to do some future-gazing about the Peak District's landscapes. Initially we looked at research done elsewhere and methods of constructing future landscape images. The Pilot Study Report has now been completed. Longer term, depending on funding, we hope to identify the trends most likely to affect the Peak Park and to produce pictures of the landscape they will create.
We believe this project will play an important role in making clear the long-term consequences of decisions made now. As a result we hope that students, residents, planners, school-children, businesses and visitors will think about the future of the Peak Park and steer it towards a 2084 that will be different but as beautiful as ever.

Tips for printing large Adobe pdf documents:
Picture top left: Peakland Guardian Magazine Summer 2008 editionThe free Adobe Reader 7.00 software allows you to print multiple pages of a PDF on the one sheet of paper. Rather than print out a 10-page PDF document on 10 separate sheets of paper, you could create a booklet by imposing 2 pages from the PDF on each sheet of paper. This is called' n-up printing' and is now available to users of the free Adobe Reader 7 via the Print dialog (File > Print) . Under' page scaling' choose 'multiple pages per sheet' and put the number of pages per sheet in the box below. This will save paper and help the environment.
