Wildlife work at Haythornthwaite

26th Mar 2011

Help us with some general maintenance work at Haythornthwaite Wood. We will also be making wildlife habitats and clearing paths so that the woodland is welcoming to animals, and has space and shelter for smaller creatures. We are also hoping to give the memorial stone a wash and brush up.

No experience needed as skilled rangers will be showing people what to do. You do need to be reasonably fit and willing to work in all weathers. The nearby moors are fairly remote but Haythornthwaite Wood itself is small and does have shelter. We'll provide the tea and biscuits, but you need to bring a packed lunch and a drink - and make sure you are dressed appropriately (hats and gloves recommended).

We should be finished by 4pm.

Booking is essential. Please get in touch with Lindsay Doyle-Price as soon as possible if you want to take part so that we can give you travel tips and bus numbers or if possible, arrange car shares.
