"If you love the Peak District as much as I do then please come on this great walk. Celebrate the Peak District’s 60th birthday, while also raising money to help Friends of the Peak District protect its landscapes and countryside."
Julia Bradbury, president of Friends of the Peak District
Join us on this fantastic charity walk to celebrate the 60th birthday of the UK’s first national park!
Starting from the stunning Thornbridge Hall, there is a choice of two circular routes through the beautiful Monsal Trail – either the more challenging 15 miles (kicking off at 8.30am) or the more leisurely 7.5 miles (kicking off at 11.30).
The walks return you to Thornbridge Hall where you can meet ex-Blue Peter presenter Simon Groom to help us celebrate the 60th birthday, rest your weary feet and enjoy a nice piece of cake. This will be a great event so please join us.
Cost: adults £13.50, children £6.00 (all proceeds to Friends of the Peak District). We also ask if you can help raise sponsorship towards our work protecting Peak District landscapes.
Stop Press! – The Three Cakes Challenge
Due to popular demand we also have now on offer an extra walk option perfect for those with babies, toddlers (or any one who doesn’t fancy walking far). The Three Cakes Challenge is a 3 mile stroll (starting at 10.45am) along the Monsal Trail between Thornbridge Hall and Hassop Station Café and back. With delicious cake at each stop it would be a perfect treat for the family, and we hope that you can come celebrate the Peak District’s birthday with us.
Cost: £5.00 per person or under 5’s free, (all proceeds to Friends of the Peak District). We also ask if you can help raise sponsorship towards our work protecting Peak District landscapes.
