Explore the gritstone edges and eastern moors of the Dark Peak. Our route heads south along White Edge, overlooking the Derwent Valley and the Chatsworth Estate. We then descend through ancient woodland to cross Bar Brook before climbing to Gardoms Edge with its Stone Age carved rocks. From here we turn north on to wild Barbrook Moor passing two stone circles before returning to the Grouse Inn for a well-earned drink.

This walk is intermediate level and 11 miles. Although more challenging than our beginners walks these walks are suitable for most people. We will be covering between seven and ten miles using well marked routes and footpaths.  Typically we will be crossing fields, open moor land and the ground maybe slippery under foot and muddy.  We will have to negotiate stiles and small obstructions all of which are achievable with care. Sturdy suitable footwear is highly recommended for this walk, if in doubt about your footwear please contact Large Outdoors for more advice.
