Please support local action on climate change. We’re calling on Councils in Derbyshire to declare a Climate Emergency!

We are a member of the Derbyshire Climate Coalition, comprised of over 20 of groups across Derbyshire calling on all councils in Derbyshire to declare a climate emergency. Over 2,000 people have signed a petition in support of this, and there will be a motion debate on this at the full Derbyshire County Council meeting at 2pm on Wednesday 15th May, County Hall, Matlock.

How you can help:

  • Email your local County Councillor to get them to support declaring a climate emergency in Derbyshire. Contact details below.
  • Sign the petition here.
  • Attend the council meeting.  Join a demonstration at 1pm outside County Hall, Matlock, before the meeting at 2pm on Wednesday 15th May. The greater the show of public support, the more likely councillors are to support it.

There is global consensus that climate change poses significant risk to our health, our economy, our environment…

To ensure this passes we want as many people as possible to email their County Councillor to ask them to support the climate emergency motion. Please see details below of how to contact your local

Please take 5 minutes of your time for this important action. And please forward this message to your friends and family. Thank you.
