Learn about how to make use of the power of local rivers at this free workshop.

With new subsidies and incentives for green power, hydro power is an obvious choice in a hilly, rainy area like the Peak District.

We want to encourage as many people as possible to think about how they can generate hydro electric power and make profits that can be fed back into rural communities, and hopefully see more and more hydro power sites developed in the Peak District. Come along and find out how to assess whether you can make green energy from your local river.

Guest speaker:

  • Oliver Paish of Derwent Hydro – who have designed and built successful hydro schemes in the Peak District and elsewhere

The workshop includes free buffet lunch.  It is funded by the Open Gate charitable trust, and is a follow up to our Peak Power report

Location: Derbyshire Eco Centre, Porter Lane, Wirksworth, DE4 4LS
