THIS IS AN OUT OF DATE NOTICE. THE ROUTE THROUGH ILAM IS NOW FINE.
The National Trust have had to close the entrance to the Paradise Walk due to a land slip. They have provided a detailed map to show walkers alternative routes which can be easily followed but they make no specific mention of the Boundary Walk.
Also, the sign for the Boundary Walk, located near to the church, appears to send walkers over St Bertrans bridge and from there onto a path which eventually leads to a bridge over the river Manifold. This bridge is currently closed but is due to be reopened soon!
The National Trust have told us that the closed section of path will be opened in the not too distant future but we advise you to check the National Trust directions alongside your map and guide book directions, so that you avoid any potential problems in this area.
