An informal concert to celebrate 500 years of choral music.
In aid of Friends of the Peak District.
Music to capture the heart… to worship… to seduce… to glorify nature… to drink to… to uplift the soul.
The programme will include:
Early sacred music by Josquin, Byrd, Gibbons and Purcell; madrigals by Weelkes, Lassus and Farmer; a Bach motet, plus an arrangement of Bach by Ward Swingle; works by Parry, Debussy, Rheinberger and Vaughan Williams; recent compositions by John Taverner, Morton Laurisden, Esenvalds and Lukaszewski; and ‘Autumn Leaves’ by Andrew Carter.
